As a telecommunications carriage service provider, we're required by law to submit certain customer and phone number information (name, address, and phone number, and whether your number is listed or unlisted) to the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND). The IPND is used for purposes including emergency call services (Triple Zero), directory assistance, and by law enforcement and emergency services agencies. Some of the platforms and service providers we use to run Bellmax may store or process information on servers located outside Australia (for example, cloud-hosted software and email delivery infrastructure). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers protect personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Where you apply for a business telco or IT service on account terms, we may collect and use credit-related information, including obtaining a credit report from a credit reporting body, to assess your application. We handle this information in accordance with Part IIIA of the Privacy Act and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code.
We take reasonable steps to keep the personal information we hold accurate, up to date and secure, including access controls on our systems, secure storage of records, and limiting access to staff who need it to do their job. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
We may contact you with information about Bellmax products and offers we think may be relevant to you. You can opt out of direct marketing at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email — this won't affect service-related communications about your existing plan.
